Created in 2014, CARYATID AM acts as an asset manager and advisor specifically dedicated to real estate business. CARYATID AM is an independent company owned by its partners. It aims to offer its clients a tailored and comprehensive service to initiate and consolidate a real estate investment position. Eventually, it hopes to increase the profitability on a medium to long term basis and appreciate. In 2014, four partners sharing the same professional ethics, each one with several years of complementary experience at a high level in real estate business, decided to put together their expertise. CARYATID AM thus enlarged the scope of its activity to cover the entire field of its clients’ requirements. CARYATID AM positioned itself as an answer to markets’ long-term tendencies.
CARYATID AM is the result of its founders’ joint analysis. The increasing interest for real estate, often intended as a strictly financial opportunity, has opened the market to new actors (investors, asset managers, advisors…). Due to constant changes in legal and environmental regulations, tax rules, and technical and financial solutions, each operation has become ever more complex. Real estate investment has come to require both specific knowledge of the context and proven operational expertise. During more than 20 years, Marie occupied senior executive roles in the real estate industry in large institutional investors, such as insurance companies, pension funds, banks, and listed property companies. Marie oversaw important real estate departments, led a team of more than 50 people and managed portfolios of over €4 billion. During this period, she successfully carried various missions. Her main achievements include: elaboration and implementation of real estate strategies such as supervision of disposal programs, reallocation of funds in various asset types, acquisitions of strategic real estate portfolios and financial, operational and social restructuring/mergers/reorganisation of several listed property companies. More recently, Marie was general manager of Eurosic (a French listed property company) for more than 2 years. During this period, the annual average total return of the portfolio was over 10% and the market cap doubled. Marie is also administrator of two listed real estate companies and member of the Investment Committee of Institut Pasteur.
Laurent has 10 years of experience in real estate, which he acquired in large property companies where he contributed to the development of the business and the creation of new real estate activities. Laurent began his career in 2003 at Gecina, a French listed property company where he held the positions of operational audit, management control, disposals and acquisitions; and dealt with several types of assets (residential, office, logistics, hospitality). In 2007, Laurent joined EUROSIC, the French listed property company, and was successively in charge of corporate department, treasury and financings, acquisitions and disposals. Finally, he became head of acquisitions. During this period, Eurosic’s portfolio increased from €30 million to €2.5 billion and the number of employees from 3 to 50. During his career, Laurent has invested over €5 billion and sold assets for more than €900 million. Laurent holds an engineering degree from the Ecole Spéciale des Travaux Publics (ESTP) and a master’s degree from the Ecole Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Sociales (ESSEC). He is also a member of the RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors).
